Advanced TESOL course structure

40-hour In-class course:

Learn how to teach English to different ages and levels and develop better teaching skills. Topic includes: Lesson Planning, Classroom Observation and Preparation, Teachers and Teaching, Learners and Learning, Classroom Management, Ice-Breakers, Warmers and Lead-in, Teaching Productive Skills, Focus on Language, Teaching Lexis, Pronunciation, Grammar, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, Testing and Assessment.

80-hour online course:

60 hours: Language Awareness Portfolio delivered by Inspired CPD is a carefully designed course to improve knowledge of the relevant language and the terminology used to describe language and linguistics. The portfolio contains 14 video and reading input units, followed by assessment tasks that comprise the entire portfolio. Unit 15 is about guidance on completing a portfolio, continuing to develop knowledge of language meaning and insight into how language works, and a final online exam for evaluating portfolio content.
10 hours: Classroom observation: We will provide several teaching videos for students to watch, learn, and evaluate, and then write down the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching in the videos and their own opinions. Classroom observation is a very effective way of learning.
10 hours: The final Professional Development will lead students to an in-depth discussion of teaching situations. Students must analyze teaching problems and then propose solutions.

Entry requirements and procedures

All candidates for the courses must meet the following requirements:

We accept all native English speakers with College diploma or other advanced degrees. Non-native speakers may also be taken, provided they have a TOEFL score of 90 or IELTS band score of 6.0 or above.
Phone interview will also be conducted with a qualified CIEI TESOL trainer to assess a candidate's overall English ability.
